CBX Stripdown - page 12 (Vol. 52 - February 1992)

• Note that behind the clutch centre nut is a Belville (dished) washer with 'outside' stamped on it for correct replacement (pic 47).
• Remove clutch assembly complete. Note there are four pegs at the rear of the clutch outer which engage with the oil pump drive sprocket (pic 48). Great care is required on reassembly to make sure these pegs are engaged before tightening clutch centre nut.
• Remove the oil guide plate's three 10mm bolts (pic 49) and replace them into their respective housings. They will come to no harm and you won't lose them!

• Remove the clutch centre bush and both oil pump drive sprockets complete with chain (pic 50). Do not forget the thrust washer placed next to the bearing (pic 51). This is a good time to thread some welding rod or similar through the centre of the clutch to keep all parts in order for reassembly.

• Fit the primary gear holder special tool (07924-422-0000) as shown in pic 52 using the two shortest clutch cover bolts as shown. Undo the primary gear nut (27mm socket) and remove the Belville (dished) washer marked 'outside' for correct refitment (pic 53). Remove special tool.
