As I sit here, I am awaiting the delivery of my first CBX. It is an 82 ProLink, I first saw on FleaBay. When I saw it was listed by a dealership, I spend some time on the phone with a sales rep learning what he knew about the bike. I will be the second owner of this bike. In photos it looks pretty good and has only 17,500 miles on it. The dealership spend some time bringing it back to life an says it runs really well. I'll know more in a couple hours.
In the mean time, I am trying to learn to speak CBX. My last project was a 1974 Moto Guzzi Police bike complete with period radio head and friction siren. Thought it was time for a new project and I have always loved the looks of the 82 CBX.
I am sure I will be asking plenty of questions in the near future.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. It has a ICOA sticker on the side cover. I will take that as a good omen.

Welcome to the site.
Hopefully the seller has it running properly for you.
Seeing as you have been around vintage bikes you know how rare it is that a dealership will know what they are doing in regards to an old bike.
Feel free to post pics of the CBX and your Moto Guzzi.

Re: Hello from So. California
Got the bike today, wasn't quite as described. (I know what a shocker) I was told their mechanic "cleaned and adjusted the carbs." I found the gas in the tank looked like swamp water and the #1 cylinder isn't firing at least much of the time. (there is spark and the smell of unburned fuel) I think my first attack will be to get the swamp water out of the tank, clean the tank and try some real gas. I think I see a carb rebuild in the near future.
