Buy A Set of '79 Carbs Finished & Ready?
How much should a fellow budget if he wants to buy a set of correct, rebuilt, and ready to mount and run carbs for a 1979 CBX? Suggestions welcome.

Difficult to say. Are you buying outright or do you have a "core" to trade?
For me, it would depend on who did the work.
A complete set, freshly done (not five years ago and then stored) no core, done right, ready to mount and go, will set you back at least $1,000.-, if you are lucky, a hair less.
Consider that all services that overhaul carbs charge around $800.- to do your set. Included those who bragged they could do it for $299.- and caused a big discussion here on the site. After they did a few, they are now at $800.- also.
