Headlight bulb

Post by broook »

One of our new members is having a problem with the late model headlight and bulb replacement.

I have never worked on the late model and I have no access to one so I can`t help him.

Could one of you guys please explain to him how to change one?

From the front. Remove the headlight cover (glass) from the fairing, pull out the headlight after you loosen the screw on the headlight adjusting knob, remove the knob and the 12mm hex nut

Headlight replacement

Post by sixacross »

Hey guys !!

I just purchased a 82 CBX and the headlight is lo beam only.

How do you get the headlight protector off the fairing to change the bulb?

I don't want to do something wrong on this sweet bike !!

Any / other advice for a CBX newbie would be appreciated.......

Im also gonna need a new rear tire.

Thanks

Don, EMS has given you the procedure in the above post. The lexan cover just comes off by removing it from the gasket holding it in the fairing.

Heres an exploded view from the German site.

Thanks, I just didn't want to break a tab or something...... I'm guessing a knife or small screwdriver between the lexan and the gasket starting at a corner ??

Don, Some of the late model guys are using the Bridgestones Spitfires, you might want to look at them. They have given reports on the tire. Another one would be the Metzlers ME33 frt and the ME 55.
