New member from The Netherlands
Hello cbx enthousiasts
I bought my dream bike last week, and as you can expect here, it is a cbx1000z.
My name is Nick, I am 24y/o and live in Volkel The Netherlands.
I am a huge fan of the vintage Hondas, currently have a small collection consisting of a 1979 cb400four, a 1975 cb750k2, a 1976 gl1000Ltd and the cbx1000z which is from 81 according to the German papers, but I believe it should be 1979. It is a very late number, cb1-2022xxx
I bought it after it has been standing for over 10 years, so it is still a bit of a project. And it needs some parts like the indicators and the headlight. But all in due time. Step by step.

Lovely stable of bikes, Nick.
Certainly looks to be a '79 and certainly looks to be in nice shape for having sat for so long.

Welcome, and congratulations on your new bike.
Your CB750 does appear to be a K2, but that would be a 1972 model. The SOHC 750's were the only Honda where the "K" matched the model year.
I happen to have a very early K2 also. It used some K1 pieces.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Thanks everyone.
This resulted in k2 frames and specs but they did give them the newer model engines. So a k2 frame with a k5 engine.
I still have the original paperwork from Honda stating these numbers.. (warranty papers and booklet for first free maintenance)
Thank you, regarding the 750 you are correct for the USA but here in Europe we had the k2 till the k6 came out. K3 4 and 5 were never delivered.Rick Pope wrote: Mon Oct 04, 2021 8:46 am Your CB750 does appear to be a K2, but that would be a 1972 model. Groeten Nick
Nice 79, great find!
Lose that headlight asp! Bert at Six Centrum Motoren can likely help you out with the spares you need.

Thanks everyone
Couldn't agree more, it looks hideous.. I am planning to go to Sixcenter this weekend, first step is to make it running and driving again, then I'll address the headlight, blinkers and mirrors. It currently has Kawasaki mirrors on there, they sure have to go asap..wyly wrote: Tue Oct 05, 2021 1:53 pm Lose that headlight asp! '79-'80 CBX headlights can be difficult and expensive to find. Early eighties CB-F headlights will work in a pinch.
The 8" headlight setup from the '82-'83 Suzuki GS1100E would be a nice compliment to your mild custom.
