Hello all you X'ers across the world,
What a great bunch of obsessive ICOA bike nuts I finally met down in Pennsylvania!
And now we are home! safely and without hassle. I want to sincerely thank all these ICOA members, Dennis McCartney and Mike Barone particularly, as well as Dave McMunn the carb guy, Jack Gutshall, Mickey, and Bob Bueller, and let's not leave out the ladies of CBXman, Kathy T. and Kathleen, and Sarah, who know just what the tiny or odd part is and, more amazingly, where to find it!
This sounds like advertising but I was there and it's seriously true. Everyone was great, really nice and excellent hosts to myself and Bruce.
The only danger was being made to eat and drink almost continuously!
I spent a long cold winter working alone in my basement, with no bike to reference to, just help from all of you on the net, so thanks. I have to put in a vote for the ICOA CBX Tech Tips manual too - indispensable IMHO for the rebuilder.
I was near tears in appreciation when my X actually started and ran the first time we tried it after assembly! This wonder of a machine was actually driven by me last Saturday morning in the parking lot for the first time, and wow- what an acceleration! On to the coarse tuning (adjust & align chain, steering, etc.) and the fine tuning.
I can't thank enough everybody who helped. unreal.
Wow.
What a club! The support from ICOA members is like nothing else I've ever encountered in all my years of tinkering. Sure beats the HOG! Tried that twice but no comparison.
Any X'ers coming by Kingston, Ontario, Canada better call by and let me pass it on the fellowship, help and friendliness I received!
