.......one more thing, my new in the box $30 turn signal that started this forum string looks pretty good compared to the one selling on Ebay for $153 right now.

The auction opening bid was $900 - Same price as the last set he sold about 6 months ago, but I think they got more than one bid and sold for ~$950 or so

The NOS set of 3 gauges got only one bid . . . . $1K - Didn't meet the reserve. The 'Buy It Now' price was $1700, so I'm guessing the reserve was probably $1500

Free shipping though ;)

Christmas was probably not a good time to sell those high dollar items but if he lists them around the second week of February he may get more hits because of tax return deposits going in. I would also allow 30 days to make payment so people that live check to check can get in on it.
I used turn signals off a 80 CB900C on my 80 CBX and it doesn't bother me at all. I have had two bike collectors with one being a CBX owner take a close look and neither noticed the fake signals and when I pointed them out they laughed. Hopefully they were laughing with and not at me.

When I used to sell movies on Ebay I always listed Buy It Now titles on Friday morning for the people just getting paid and the rest were listed so they terminated around Sunday noon while people still had money in their accounts. There is a method to the Ebay madness. I left and never looked back because of a few stinkers and now the feedback changes have put sellers at a disadvantage to where they have to kiss a$$ to avoid bad feedback.

I strongly suspect most of the high dollar NOS stuff is all going to Europe . . . .

I would even try to figure a way to put Harley signals on my X before I paid $900.00 for a NOS Honda set. :D But that's just me.

While I truly admire the concours-quality CBX's, I'm glad mine is a rider.

Thanks. The guy that takes the pictures at the Dragon really does an excellent job.

Speaking of which, here is a video of the same photographer following a sportbike on a Dragon run. He is in his Honda S2000. Notice what great lines both the bike and the car have, and how smooth the rider is. Great stuff. I suggest you watch it in full-screen mode. :D

Odd thing about this absolute no compromise restoration obsession is that when finally done the result is the most common of all CBXs.....one just like all the other 42,000 new ones just before they were shipped by Honda to dealers.

Each his own....you pay, you play the way you want....thankfully there is a place for us all.....restored stock CBX showbikes in the back on rides.... ofcourse

I have to agree with you Mike. Even though I'm fix'n to do a clean/fix up on a 5200 mile silver '79 that will reside in the entry way, along with the Henderson.

It's the original '79 that Susan bought me for Christmas of '91, now the "Yellow Bike", that I really enjoy. Soon, the '81 that I got from Suzie Tilley, Gene's widow, will be suitably modified and placed into touring service. I don't think Gene would have wanted it to be a Garage Queen.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

The new signals are showing at Tim's, but the price is $695 and they are not even complete. I find it hard to believe that the manufacturing costs were so expensive that it warrants this price. I understand a profit has to be made, but this isn't the retail diamond market...or is it? Its too bad, I was really looking forward to these. I would rather spend $100 on a nice set of nostalgic looking billet signals. Hopefully the market demand will be low and drive the price down one day.

I agree

The stock plastic housings seem almost designed to fail early and unless you're a stickler for detail, the chromed ones used on the 750 and other bikes not only look better, but they can be found used most anywhere for $30 or $40 each - A much better choice in my book when they want hundreds for the new or reproduction black plastic ones

Looks like they dropped $100 already. Still no where in the park for me.
