I have a set of 79 gauges but can't get the trip meter to unscrew.
In the past I just cut it off but I would like to try and keep this one .

Mike,
Have you tried a little heat with a Heatgun? I have had one that I had the same issue and heated it up a little and it worked for me. Once I got it off I seen I where somebody used loctite on it. Good luck :handgestures-fingerscrossed:

Isn't that the one with the reverse thread?

I think it is reverse thread. Takes a bit of jiggling but persevere.

Turn it clockwise Mike. It may stick but thats how it unscrews.

Thanks guys.
I tried heat wouldn't budge. Finally cut the stem then got a small exacto saw type blade and cut the remaining stem, still had to use a side cutters to get the damn thing off.

It was glued on with something.

Ouch. Makes me wonder if someone forced a different, similar sized, screw of rh thread into it. OR, J-B'ed it in.
