Hi From Cornwall, UK!

Hi folks! New member here from Cornwall, UK. After wanting a CBX for some thirty years, I've finally purchased a US bike that has led most of its life in Canada. It's very original apart from a Laser 6-1 system that has been fitted in England a couple of years' ago. It's Candy Red, has 20k on the clock, and... Was manufactured in April of 1978, making it a first month of production bike. The chassis number ends: 1937. Not sure whether this makes the bike any more appealing, but I think it's cool!

Me: 40-something... Have ridden bikes all my life. Presently have a 1987 RG500 Gamma, a 1987 GSXR 750 Slabside and an RGV250 track bike. I guess I'm fond of Suzukis also! But don't flame me for my little penchant :)

I'm hoping to make as many local meets as possible and have already found another Cbx owner not far from me in Penzance. Hopefully hooking up soon.

Pictures to follow...
P.s. the howl of a CBX at 10,000 rpm is what made me purchase my bike. Back in the 80's, there was a dude in my home town that blasted up and down the seafront on summer nights. Whoever you are/were, you are responsible for that little seed that has finally come to fruition.

All things good, Matt

Welcome to the site, Matt.
The howl of a Walter Wolf RG500 with Jolly? pipes blasting around my neighbourhood makes me want one of them too.
Nice collection, although the combined weight of the two RG might be less than the Six.[just kidding] Feel free to post pics of all your bikes.

Hey Matt,

Great intro, and welcome to you. You will find kindred spirits here. Now, photos of your bike or it didn't happen!

Nice bike, Matt! Apart from the exhaust, there are quite a few changes from original: the Marzocci (?) shocks, the rear view mirrors, low handlebars (sport kit?) , cross-drilled rotors, several black engine covers, updated (80) tailpiece and the seat has been redone. 8)

Ah... I guess she has been 'pimped' a little. But then it's just how I like it and its just like the one that used to blast around my home town back in the 80's. The Marzoccis are a vast improvement over the stockers ;)

Great looking bike which will have heads turning as you blast by all those summer caravans. I used to vacation at Porthcothan near Padstow as a kid. Your CBX will do well flying over Bodmin moor!

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the site, there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site who are always willing to help.
You will also find a great group in the UK in the UK CBX club.
Hope to see you at some of the meets in the UK.

Cheers
