Greetings from ex-owner

I was scanning a box of old photographs and came across some pictures of my old CBX which got me to wondering if there is a CBX forum nowadays and here I am. :-)

I owned an 82 for several years and really loved that bike. I'd had bikes of different kinds since the early 70s and the CBX was my last. It was the bike I wanted in the late 70s but couldn't afford (and probably just as well) so when I came across one in the mid 90s I snatched it up and spent several years catching up on the fun. But then, and I can't explain it, I just lost interest in riding and eventually sold the bike so someone else could enjoy it. I wonder sometimes where it went and how it's doing.

Anyway, nice to see y'all. Do you have a picture forum or thread? I'd love to spend some time looking at CBX pics. Here's those pics I was talking about.

I do have one regret, of sorts, about not keeping the bike. Another Honda product that I wanted when it was new but couldn't afford was the Acura NSX. A couple years after I finally let go of the CBX, I fulfilled that old desire and bought myself an NSX which I'm still driving, and probably always will. It's just as awesome a car as the CBX was a motorcycle. It would have been cool to have them both at the same time.

Ride safe!

Welcome to the ICOA forum, "skippy". In the right upper corner of the screen is a shortcut to "Gallery". All kind of pictures in there.
Do you still have the VIN-number of your 82 CBX? There is a chance it surfaced somewhere and we can trace it.

Now, are you going to buy a new NSX when it comes out in 2015??? Will be made in the U.S.!!

I think I have the original bill of sale in a storage bin somewhere. I'll dig it out someday. I am also pretty sure I was an ICOA member for a couple years, still have the patch. There wasn't a forum, but we had a mail list.

As for the new NSX, that car is still mostly questions and conjecture. We're all waiting for hard specs and live sightings. It seems a pretty sure bet it'll be priced out of my league, though.

It is pretty much reality. I know a guy in engineering who is part of the project team. Will be available in the first half of 2015. It will look pretty close to what the concept car looked at the Detroit Auto show. It will be a hybrid all-wheel drive with a direct-injection V6, combined with a lithium-ion battery pack, regenerative brakes. They are also considering a lower-priced non-hybrid version.

Sure, it'll be a reality, but there aren't any numbers yet. What does it weigh? How much HP/Tq? What's the price? We need to know that and more before we know what its competition will be.

Once we are in a position to make a decision between this and the competition, we will know.
