In pulling out my battery box to replace my VRegulator I left my batt box on its side on the workbench and about 1 hour later a fair amount of the the black goo had leaked out on the bench
PIA to clean up but want to seal whole thing up with something like black silicone right over the goo that’s left
it’s looks to be impossible to remove it all thou
When it’s in position it can’t leak but it’s very soft and gooey looks like it’s trouble if left like that
Ideas thanx in advance

Artie, that is easier to clean up than it looks. Remove the screws and pry them mostly open, then boil up some water and then give them a soak on their sides in the hot solution, quite a lot of the potting goo will slough right off. Acetone will help clean stuff up too. Once cleaned up, you’ll see that the alloy “tray” is the part that mostly leaks, the side on the metal bracket is usually OK. Mix up some JBWeld and slightly under fill the trays with it, clean up any spills with acetone or lacquer thinner. Prop in a flat position and let cure overnight.
