Carb over flow joint.

One for the experts - which bikes had the joint in the carb over flow tube at the bracket on the clutch cover.
From what I can gather some had this joint and some a straight tube held by the bracket on the clutch cover.
Seen a lot of bikes with no joint and no bracket.

Parts fiche show the '79 had the bracket and extra sleeve of hosing.
After that it was a simpler 3-1 on each side with the hose dumping by the frame rails.

If the bike is a '79, it originally had the metal sleeve bolted to the clutch cover, with a reducing bushing connecting the bowl drain hose to the larger drain hose that empties by the left center stand mount. Any other configuration on a '79 is McGyvered. All other years had 3-1 drains for both banks, the right one exiting as the ''79 does, but without the clutch cover bracket, and the left one exiting in front of the alternator then rearward to a holding bracket bolted to the left side sump cover.

Thanks for the replies. I have the bracket on my 79 but I guess some previous owner ditched the reducing sleeve and just ran one size tube all the way.
I will have to see if I can replace mine from our usual sources.

Hi sixinoz,
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I have recently gone to 6x individual drain hoses on my '79 and I think I still have the OEM bits incl. bracket and reducer. Are you still in need of same? Let me know.
Cheers...Tony
