120 rear tire on 1981?

Post by JohnK3 »

I'm shopping for tires for my stock 1981 CBX. Spec's call for a 130/90-18 rear tire. Availability of that size is extremely limited. It looks like the 1979 and 1980 models call for a 120/90-18 rear tire. Would it be unwise to put the narrower 120 tire on my '81?

Says there are 9 available in your size.
Might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.

You really need to run the 130/90-18 on the rear. The Shinkos are just fine.

Shinko's have become the "go to" tire for these bikes.

I've installed many and highly recommend them.
