Thanks guys. I just got back from a ride. I took the long way to the Ct shore today and put 130 miles on it.
The bike performed very nicely and rides/sounds like a bike that has 5,200 miles on it. I feel very fortunate to have been able to buy these bikes.
Mike Nixon did an awesome job on the carbs and I'm very impressed with the power this bike puts out. Smooth as silk.

Congrats on getting one of the bike up and running so quickly! Yes, the carbs are the heart of these things and must be right. Mike Nixon is the best! Will you get another one running or are you still thinking it over?

I see you went with a Pingle fuel valve. Did it come with that or did you replace the original? If you have an original one, take the time to rebuild it and eventually put it back on. The Pingles are a pain with almost no reserve. Those aren't the 40 year-old tires still on the bike are they?

Wow, Dave, you're very observant. Yes, those are the oe factory tires. I have a new set on the way. I put the Pingel fuel valve on, too. there are a couple of oe valves the po
gave to me but they're all crusty and I decided on the Pingel.
I have loads of time with the world shut-down to work on the bikes and probably have spent 6 hours a day for a month and a half. Cool with me.
The other bike is running actually. While I was waiting for the carbs on this one, I got it running. I've put 530 miles on and it runs very good. It has a slow
return to idle issue so the carbs have to come off. It's to be expected, sitting as long as it did. The other.

It is possible that your slow return to idle is just carbs out of sync a bit.

Six cylinders and six carburetors will, some times, make you wonder why you ever bought a bike like this...
