Re: Wolf exhaust system photos needed.
Sorry not sure if I can reply to an old post (new member) but this post caught my attenion. I just installed NOS (still in cardboard and plastic wrap) Wolf Racing exhaust system 6/2 on my 1979 CBX, the muffler badge says wolf racing but not loud at all. I could send pics if anyone interested 3 years later.

Re: Wolf exhaust system photos needed.
If it says "Wolf Racing" doesn't that mean it's the German one, not a Gary Wolf system?
Either way, never ask here if you should share pictures - the answer will always be YES!!!
And welcome!
It would be great if you can do an introduction post in the New Member Introduction Forum to tell us a bit about yourself and your bike.

Re: Wolf exhaust system photos needed.
The 6-2 from Wolf that i had 15? years ago had a similar header setup but no silver mufflers. Just flowed into a small baffled muffler.
According to Gary they were a very early version and he suggested lopping the ends off and trying to find the better ones like the ones on your system.
Nice to see the center stand, it didn't work with mine.

Re: Wolf exhaust system photos needed.
Very nice.
The 6-2 looks very different from my 6-2-1. The primaries as they leave the head and as they join the collectors look a lot like mine, but my primaries are much, much shorter (maybe just over half the length of these), and they hug the block much tighter:
Maybe the shorter primaries are OK when there's a secondary collector so far downstream? Gary is still pretty proud of the design and tuning that went into these pipes, so I assume there's a good reason for the difference.

Re: Wolf exhaust system photos needed.
Good to know it's a Wolf system. Couple years ago I aquired a trailer full of CBX parts, nothing assembled but told there was one bike in parts. I completed one stock 1979 (except exhaust), the second 1979 ( with Wolf) was modified due to lack of OEM parts. Enjoyed building both but more fun trying to fit non OEM parts (on going) hence selling stock one. Thanks to info on this site I was able to avoid not all but most mistakes.

What front brake do you have on there?

It's a Nissan master with a 4 piston Tokico radial mounted on stock rotors, had to build bracket, shim out rotors and backcut the calipers to miss spokes. To utilize OEM hoses (1" short) made a bracket to lower splitter. Working on relocating speedo cable.
