Cb1100 wheels
I have set of cb1100 wheels . Rear is a 17 with 140 size tire and front is 18 with 110.
Can they work o CBx as direct swap ?

Kind of, but there are several things you'll need/want besides just the wheels. I'd look at upgrading the swingarm to the 1100F also, complete with the 1100 rear brake, torque arm and chain guard. You'll need to have a new sleeve machined for the swingarm, but that's it. It's a bolt-on otherwise. Forks can be done the same way, Pro-Link, US 1100F (with some mods for the bars and gauges) both work well. You'll get the upgraded brakes as well.
I've done several CBXs with a combination of these mods and they work really well. I have quite a few 1100F bits I might part with if you need them.

If you just want to swap the wheels and not go through the other mods, the brake rotors will not work on the CBX forks and calipers.

Here is what I have
Assuming I keep same forks in front but get 82 calipers and brakes , would these work? I understand for rear I will need swingarm swap since I need brakes and a 140 won’t fit in stock swingarm

Those wheels will work with the Pro-Link forks and your stock swingarm. You use the 1100F front axle, speedo drive and speedo cable. Use a 110/80-18 on the front. BUT - you'll need 900F caliper hangers and standard, 2-piston calipers, not the Pro-Link ones. That'll fix you up in the front.
The rear wheel will bolt on with proper spacers (sprocket side may need to be 1100F or CBX, can't remember which. Right side is the same as CBX. You will need the 1100F caliper hanger and caliper too (some others will work, not sure if Pro-Link hanger will). Stock swingarm will allow a 130/80-17, I think. Flatten your torque arm if not.
I think the CBX handles fine with the 18/17 combo and those tire sizes. Even better with the 1100F swingarm.

Oh, I've forgotten a lot. Now - if you want to use the 1100F wheel with the '79 forks, I think you have a spacer problem due to the narrower spacing of the forks than the 1100F or Pro-Link. I know a guy that did it years ago and can find out from him what he had to do, if you want. Or I can hunt out my parts and start fitting stuff until I find the right combo.

Hate to beat a dead horse, especially on my first post but I want to make sure I get this right.
My 1982 CBX came with Gold boomerangs. The tyres are 10 year old Metzelers and the back tyre has a flat surface like a car. Right now the bike feels a bit loose, like an oversteer. The PO said the front steering bearings were changed last year. I also have the left fork that is leaking. Ordered new seals and Fork oil to fix that too.
Front is currently 110/90/18
Rear is currently 140/80/17
Looks fine the way it is.
I want to change them for Shinkos, I have an excellent tyre shop near my house called Pete Superbike, he has great prices and does the installs too.
When I look at the specs for CB1100F wheels I get;
Front: 100/90/18
Rear: 130/90/17
So I went through the different topics about what fits best on those boomerangs and couldn't make up my mind. I read you should keep the thickness the same so;
110/80/18 and 140/80/17
I also read that fatter tires don't really handle that well so stock setup is better ?;
100/90/18 and 130/90/17
So in your opinion / experience what is the best setup taking into consideration handling, performance and comfort ?

My silver Boomers came off a cb900 Bol'dor, '82 if I recall. 2.5x18 with 110/90 BF battlax- 3x18 with 130/80 battlax
I can go slightly larger on rear but the battlax were a struggle to install as it was it wouldn't seat on the bead, maybe a problem with that particular tire or battlax, I don't know.
With all the spacers from the cbx, cb900 and cb750 wheels I was able to come up with a combination that fit.
twin pot brake, calipers and hangers came from a 84 or 83 cb750f, a straight swap much improved braking
The swingarm came from '81 GSX1100, it required bronze or brass(memory sucks)spacers machined in order fit it to the cbx frame.
Racetech emulators and springs sorted out the '79 oem forks.
I can go slightly larger on rear but the battlax were a struggle to install as it was it wouldn't seat on the bead, maybe a problem with that particular tire or battlax, I don't know.
