Wow Mike, that's beautiful work!
But you just made me feel twice as bad... What I did today was order superbike 7/8" bars because the CBX controls won't properly fit my sessy Pro Taper bars.

Mike, i like the look especially with the blacked-out headlight ring.

Steve:
when you say, one side more than the other, are you talking intake vs exhaust or left vs right side of cams?

Steve: The exhaust valves always tighten up quicker than the intakes, which is why they, especially, should be kept on the loose side. More heat there I suppose.

Thanks for the replies, Gents.
It was 10 exhaust and 1 intake that needed adjusting.

What you guys said. Spool it up Mike, I'll help organize a group buy if you can make these in quantity! Looks gorgeous.
CBX a work in progress, still improving...GS1150EFE completed and awaiting modifications.....RD350, remnants in boxes scattered throughout the garage

OK, the 7/8" bars are GONE! For those of you who like 1-1/8" bars, you might like to know that LSL makes a Superbike bend Fatbar.Syscrush wrote:But you just made me feel twice as bad... Re: What did you do to your bike today?
Took the 81 CBX out of winter hibernation today. The old girl was a little stiff until I got her out on the highway. Amazing a bike so old still runs so well. It looks like I'm starting to get an oil leak around the output shaft. I imagine there's not much I can do unless I'm willing to crack the case and change the seal, which I'm not.

I may face the same problem. Just saw an oil spot under the bike right there today. There is a way to put a seal in without splitting the cases. It's not the perfect way to do it, but several guys have done the repair and report O.K. results!

So where is this miracle repair described? If no one knows off the top of their head, I'll try a search.

Re: What did you do to your bike today?
Basically, you have to cut out the old seal and then install the new seal after you trim the lip, that sits in the grove in the case, off. I am not sure that there is a detailed description (with pics) here.
