North East Vintage Cycle in New York sells the Sankei Reproduction and NOT the Delkevic. The Delkevic's are sold from Colorado.
I have had some dealings with NEVC in New York and have nothing but good things to report. I bought the second set of Sankei repros. that they had. They are the best.
Their eBay sellers name is "hondacub" .
Very Best,
Phil

Not a problem, Phil.[hence the "was selling"]
They originally were selling the Delkvic, as a local guy bought one.
Agreed they are good guys to deal with. I have been to the shop many times and they have a nice collection of little Hondas on display.
They let me borrow a tool once for a road side fix and yes it was a hammer.

Re: David Silver Exhausts
I just bought a set from Silvers. They are new repros but I imperfects so they were selling for half price. Delivery was incredibly quick and the price seemed reasonable. Unfortunately the mufflers have little pock marks, black in colour, and the imperfections are enough that I am having the set re chromed. I have been given a ball park figure of around $800Aus
Which now takes the overall cost closer to a 'perfect' set of pipes. I will still be ahead financially but it might have been better to buy the good set straight off and be done with it!

Re: David Silver Exhausts
I've seen 2 sets of the 'seconds' from David Silver, in fact just installed a set on a friend's bike, and they can't be told from a 'first run' set. Sorry you had a different result.

Re: David Silver Exhausts
I have emailed David Silver USA and asked if these are made by the same company that supplied the originals, ie Sankei. The person that responded kind of danced around the answer and wouldn't say. Does anyone know the answer? I would like to order them

I believe that they are Not made by Sankei.
They are however, as fine a repro pipe as you will find.
Best,
Phil

I'm tempted to try the seconds, as several people have said they are quite acceptable. I am not doing a show bike, just a nice rider, so I think they will be fine.

Re: David Silver Exhausts
I organized a group buy for repro exhaust sets a year or so ago, and around that time our noted new and used parts guru Louis Mintrone shed some light on the subject of the manufacture of these.
As the story goes, the first batch of the so-called "Sankei" repros was produced by a very capable company in China (where else), and stamped *almost* identically to the originals, including the Sankei logo. But this wasn't Sankei, and when Sankei got wind of it they put the kibosh on future mislabeling of the parts with their logo. So there was a run of sets that had nearly identical stamping, and then the later batches of these pipes do not have the stamping.
By all accounts they are excellent pipes, double-walled at the headers as stock, and those that have fitted them say they mount up and everything lines up easily and they are excellent. KInd of a crap shoot as to buying seconds apparently but it sure is an excellent value.

Re: David Silver Exhausts
I was just sent some pictures from David Silver of the seconds, and they were not very good quality at any price. I declined my purchase and will probably end up ordering the full price ones.

The Sankei re-issue are great but I'm in love with my Pipemasters.
