Hello. Trying to get my 79 cbx 1000 ignition system sorted. What is the best bang for the buck? Anything new on the market?
Thanks.

Ignitech. The module is slightly larger than a pack of cigarettes.
Fully programable, many features. Uses the stock pickups, eliminates the spark boxes and I recommend using MP08 or MP10 coils due to their better construction.

I have installed several on DOHC 4's and CBX's. You can rely on the stock spark advancer or weld it solid and use the supplied curve or reprogram it to suit your needs.

Thanks, which specific one did you order for the cbx? Also was the tps sensor necessary?

Re: Latest ignition system
TPS is for those who have the ability to use it, not necessary. Helpful for the guys that run round or flat slide carburetors,
I get this one:

Send them an email with your questions to be sure you get the product you want. Usually, fast response and helpful.

Very fast response. Got everything ordered seems like a good amount of people run these systems. I'll be glad to finally do away with these ignitors.CBX-tras wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 4:23 pm TPS is for those who have the ability to use it, not necessary.
