Front and rear brake rebuild kits

Post by oroepke »

Howdy? I need to rebuild my calipers and probably also the master cylinders. What are good parts sources? Thanks!

The K&L rebuild kits have worked for me on many occasions.
I usually purchase them from Georgefix? on Ebay. Don't know if he sells elsewhere.

What Steve said, that’s pretty much all we use.

You can find them on eBay, but Bob at CBX Performance carries all the K&L stuff, as does TIMS, possibly JR and Kurt do now as well. If you have a mind to support some CBX vendors.

I've used TIMS. The thing I like about Bill Brint's kits are that the piston seal comes installed on the piston. (At least it did on mine.) Some others do not. And, it's a bear to get it onto the piston regardless how much brake fluid you put onto it..

My apologies. Didn't know those vendors carry K&L kits.
I certainly recommend supporting the vendors that support the marque.

Parts Unlimited sells front master cylinder kits for 79-80 and front and rear master cylinder kits for 81-82 under their house brand. These kits are made by Nissin.

K&S (Taiwan) sells front caliper kits for 79-80 and front and rear kits for 81-82. These kits only include the two rubber seals for the piston and nothing else. They are about half the price of the K&L kits and seem to be of equal quality. An option if you are looking to save some money and all the other bits are in good shape.
