I've probably been down that stretch of road :D , flew out of Frankfurt I'll bet.

Maybe. A66. Northwest of Frankfurt. Connects Frankfurt to Wiesbaden. Along the Taunus mountains. Probably how Stefan Jung goes home from work every night...

I probably went down that same road too, when traveling out of Lindsay AS in Wiesbaden going TDY throughout parts of Germany back in the mid 80's.

..and here is something funny. The monthly German motorcycle magazine MO issues a special about just BMWs every quarter. I usually buy it when I am over there. This time, No 24, January-March 2008 had just come out. They had a 4-page article in there about the BMW annual rally in West Bend, Wisconsin. One of the editors had visited. And would you believe it?? There is a picture of the rear end of my 1990 K1 :D :D :D

The caption under the pic says: "Unique: Good as new BMW K1 with approbiate desirable plate".
The writer was intrigued with the number and variety of vanity plates. Something that can not be had in Germany.

I was stationed on the Air Base (in a small Air Force outfit) from mid '80 thru mid '83
