Indeed, that one is a replica fairing.
With a windshield from Gustaffson it provides a good bit of protection.

It does require a number of mods to make it fit. Lower handlebars, different turn signals and some home made mounting brackets.

IIRC there were reproductions of that S fairing, originals are scarce and expensive.
how would I identify an original, the one in my garage was given to me by my brother. He stopped riding in 1991 so he would've acquired it back in the 80's, probably intended for either his 81 GS1100 Katana or 84 GS1150efe
CBX a work in progress, still improving...GS1150EFE completed and awaiting modifications.....RD350, remnants in boxes scattered throughout the garage

I only had a quick look at it but you're right it would require a bit of fabrication to get it all in place.

Not sure. We (lightly) restored an S and I’m certainly no expert on them. I’d inspect and photo it closely inside and out and ask the crew at GS resourses myself if I couldn’t find a manufacturing clue.

Robert, i have a genuine S fairing as well and it has a small Suzuki stylized "S" and "Made in Japan" stamped on the inside of the fairing just under the headlight opening.
The mirrors for them are even rarer and more expensive.

No "S" or "made in Japan"...the one I have is black not the white reproductions I see for sale. Looking at it again I can see my brother did some alterations to it so just as well it's not original and he cut the mirror mounts off but it's still usable.

I got back my Showa fork of a 2006 ZZR 1400 that I bought nearly three years ago. It started leaking last winter and so I decided to make it best fitting to my CBX project. The fork was extended by 25mm and is now totaly black anodized, powder and DLC coated.

OK, I'm dying to see these pics. It's surprising to me that Nils can see them - direct links like this to Google Photos generally won't work.

PM me if you need help sharing the photos in a way that your friends here can see.

Maybe it´s a browser issue.
In chrome I can´t see the pictures of the german CBX forum.
In firefox I can see them.

It is not a browser issue. The links you shared are not valid for users other than you.
