Call for Interest - Group Buy of replacement footrest rubber
THIS IS EDITED 3/22/2014
Gang,
OK, I reached critical mass of 25 sets here on the club site, and have extended this opportunity here as well. Would somebody please also relay this to the folks on the Brewer list and ask them to email me if interested at nils dot menten at gmail dot com ?
Our new member Wim has very generously offered a discounted price on new sets of footpeg rubbers - the total cost shipped to you in the USA will end up ABOUT $55 per pair (USA) and about $70 ea in Can. Additional sets roughly $50 additional, including incremental shipping cost increase for both US and Canada.
The rubbers themselves will be about $48 each, plus whatever the shipping is from Holland to me (roughly $1.50 per set in bulk), then the shipping to you (roughly $7 US, $20 Canada),in a SMALL PRIORITY MAIL BOX.
Barry Adam also researched and then successfully used a cyanoacrylate glue that I will also offer at cost. A .8 oz tube will probably cost around $20, and Barry thinks it will do several sets. It's small enough that it will fit in the small Priority Mail box and so should not incur any additional cost to ship.
To be perfectly clear, I will not profit on the group buy, whatever the net cost is, is what I will pass through to anyone interested. Sorry guys, USA and Canada only, but if any number of you Aussies are interested, send me a PM and we'll figure something out with Wim.
Note that if you don't buy the glue through the group buy you will also need to source some special adhesive yourself locally to put these on with, and it takes a bit of work to strip the old ones off and maybe bead-blast your pegs to freshen them up, but as Wim's photo below shows it's totally worth it - they look perfect when you're done, and the set I have is soft and pliable and will feel nice and grippy underfoot I bet.
SO:
If you're interested (and have not already said so here or via private message), please say so, including how many sets, and if you want a tube of glue or not. Note that it will likely be a month at minimum before I'd have these in your hands, so factor that accordingly in your interest. I'll probably wrap this up for interest at the end of March, order the stuff, and ship around the end of April, just for a rough guess of timing.
Best,
N.
Update:
I got an email from Louis today (3/22), letting me know (as some of you saw when he posted it here a little while ago - but the post was deleted) that he is also producing these parts (but doesn't have them yet), and intends to sell them for less then this group buy. I told him that he should relay that to both websites right away, as I have not yet taken firm orders or collected money.
So you may have an opportunity through Louis to buy these for less - but I can't speak for him, nor the product. You should probably contact him directly and make your plans accordingly, no worries on my part.

OK, I got some shipping estimates from Wim for 40 sets and looked up what they might cost to ship to US and Canada in small Priority Mail boxes, and so I edited that first post a bit - it's going to be a bit cheaper than I first thought. Disclaimer: If I get whacked with duties unexpectedly, they will be passed along.

Guy's,
I can't stress enough, You will not be disappointed, these are a top quality item. And, if you think they are expensive, think again.
OEM pegs were nearly $150.00 each when they were last available. Long ago.
Best,
Phil

I think that would be the understanding, as it is for the rider footpegs only. The passenger pegs are in much better shape most of the time.cross wrote:Set is a pair?
