It’s winter storage time

Post by Bill Kemp »

Well folks:

I always hate this time of year. Clean up the garage and put the bikes away for the long cold winter.

Thought I would post a picture of the sleeping beauties

Good one Bob:

I have them ready in case the wife kicks me out and I move into the shed out in the backyard.

I always fill the tank.

As for the carbs people have different views. I am keeping them full and turning the Petcock on every week to make sure they are topped up.

Except for the Harley Livewire Electric bike which is the easiest to store. Charge battery to between 30-70% and inflate tires. How lovely

For the Harley Livewire Electric bike (which is the easiest to store) all I have to do is charge the Main battery to between 30-70% and inflate tires. The main battery charges the 12v battery during the winter. How easy peasy is that.

I have four CBXes and I store them with quite a few other bikes for 5 months in a heated space and I never drain the carbs. I use enzyme storage treatment for the fuel and run it through the carbs before storage. No issues ever. 8)

If a bike will sit more than 2 days -- anytime!!!! Add Stabil, too.
