Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Nothing adventurous, just my carelessness.
It happened at work. I was up on a ladder relocation data cable above the ceiling tiles and extended my self too much to the left. I fell down like a tree trunk smacking my shoulder and hand on the floor. This resulted in fractured shoulder (scapula) and right hand, scaphoid. Scaphoid required surgery and now i have a screw in my hand.

From painful experience, hand surgery can be more problematic than might be expected Sasha. In my case it has taken 4 months of physio just to start getting function back into my hand and it goes on. Some people are luckier than others and I hope you are amongst the former. There are 2 main nerves that run thru a narrow channel to the fingers and they have many sub branches. Any damage or irritation caused by inflammation can affect these branches and cause shooting pain up the arm to the shoulder.

If you have had a few high sides off the bike then the shoulders can become fairly sensitised. Few drugs are effective against nerve pain and if you slacken off the physio to try and reduce the pain the hand starts to freeze up.

I fell off a ladder while attempting to fix a gutter just b4 suffering a stroke in 2014 and knocked myself out cold. I was convinced this was the cause of the stroke until I found out that it was a relatively common heart defect that was the culprit. I hope you have a speedy recovery and your workers comprehensive insurance cover includes motorcycling rehabilitation.

It seems than your injury was much worse than mine. Stroke is nor fun for sure, i hope you're completely healed now!
My shoulder has healed already and so i is my hand although it is still stiff and I'm going through the occupational therapy now. It could take over a year to fully loosen up.
I broke one of the worst bones i could, Scaphoid as it's the most stubborn to heal. It was separated about 2mm in one and about 1mm in second fracture. The blood supply was also cut so they had to put a screw to bring pieces back together, otherwise it could die and i would be in a lot of pain for the rest of my life.
As for motorcycle riding, it's not on a prescribed rehabilitation exercises. I'll have to wait for the next riding season ;)
Thank you

I do love those wire spoke wheels on the CBX. Just fits perfectly!

I made it out for a run up onto the Tug Hill Plateau after getting the state inspection done. Beautiful sunshine and pushing 60 degrees. The wind turbines were running full force, and good thing the wind for them was coming from my back. I was almost sitting in still air!!

Then closer to home, one of the towns has their used snow plows up for sale. Those can wait for a while!

Ride safe all!

Steve

The horizon behind the wind turbines is the high peaks of the Adirondack Mountains.

I doubt the CBX will ever encounter one of these beasts on the road.

Bike looks great, Steve.
Whatta ya mean no snow plows for the CBX? NYS allows studded tires after the 16th?

I managed a rideout today after collecting the bike from Steel City Classics in Sheffield yesterday, where they had replaced the starter motor under warranty.
I wanted to put a few miles on her to test things before she's stashed in the garage for winter.
