Front Brake Switch Removal

Post by akinz »

Ok what am I missing??? I've removed the screw to try and remove the front brake switch from the master cylinder, but can't seem to budge it.

They stick and you very well might destroy it hammering it out. They aren't terribly expensive.

And, if I remember correctly (me!?) there is a small molded 'peg' that fits into a small recess in the m/c body? Try 'easing' a gasket scrapper between the switch and the m/c body.

I ended up getting the switch out. It was a little stuck, but what you do is remove the small retaining screw and what I ended up doing is pushing on the switch plunger then pushing on the plastic body by the plunger with a small slotted screwdriver. Came right out!
