Mike, here is the short and sweet:

upload it to YouTube

Once it's there and playable (takes a few minutes) copy the URL from the address bar of your browser, NOT the sharing link they offer.

Start or edit a post here, click the YouTube button above the authoring window. Paste the URL you copied in between the YouTube tags.

FINE POINT: If the URL you get from YouTube begins with "https" then you must delete that s so it begins with just "http".

Easier than it sounds just go step by step. If you get stuffed then email it to me and I'd be happy to post it for you.

An aside from all this jocularity, that link you posted looked like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OU_Ppxgs9Q

Using my Super Moderator Powers I edited your post, selected the entire link, and then clicked that button above the authoring window that says "youtube" and it put the YouTube tags on either end of the link. Presto - embedded video.

NOW...

If you had set your browser or YouTube preferences to always use Google apps (including YouTube) securely, then the link in your browser would have looked like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OU_Ppxgs9Q

Note the "s" at the end of the the "http". That signifies secure browsing, encrypted. For whatever reason those links will NOT work for embedding, so you simply delete the s when you paste the link. I know this all sounds mystifying, but it's not hard. Just step through it once or twice and you'll quickly master it.

Now I will watch that video and learn how to do the Watusi.

Well, I'll be. Both links bring up the exact same thing on my computer...... :?
I actually tested it and made sure it worked, before I left the post there...

That's not the point - both links would work, but only one would work if you embedded it with the YouTube tag.
