81 Seat Base

Post by jt »

Need some guidance on the seat base fitment. The seat base does not not touch the tail piece, is this normal ? Or should it touch the tail piece before screws are used. My concern is once the cover is installed it will be harder to push down and attach to Tail piece and therefor undo stress on the tail piece or pull lose from seat base and destroy the threads in the plastic . As in pic about a good 1/2 in gap.
As always thanks for the input !

So I was looking at this some more and when I press where the two lower screws go it pulls the top holes much closer, so I may be ok :D :handgestures-fingerscrossed: . I will attach to the Tail piece and see what happens.
