Pro-Link Seat Strap?

Post by bigtex »

Question for all-knowing:

Most pictures I've seen of 81 seats have the passenger grab strap across them, and most 82 do not. And the US 82 brochure I have shows no strap.

Parts fiche show different original part numbers but the picture shows no strap for both :)

So seats with straps are 81 and seats without straps are 82, unless modified? Or?

Correct. The 82 has the grab rail with no strap. 81 does not have grab rail - so, it has a strap.

Additionally, the '81 seems to have "puffier" seat pleats whereas the '82 has a flatter hot-stamp.

Honda only gave the passenger one place on either to hang onto, strap on the '81, basket handle on the '82 (at least here in the USA).

If you want to put a strap on the '82, the studs/attachment plate on the bottom aren't long enough to do it.

Thanks for info, guess I can be right every now and then, no matter what my wife and kids say.

Picking up an 82 shortly that has a strap, gotta get that fixed :)
