anyone have experience with a loud, heavy, knock. Sounds like it's coming from the bottom end. Not a double-knock like a con-rod.Oil pressure light not on. Seems to run fine otherwise.

Not a good noise :-(
Could be a bent rod with the piston skirt hitting the crank.
Best,

the odd thing is that it ran just fine on an outing. Then I parked it and when I started it back up it was making this noise. I hadn't ridden it hard at all maybe 6000rpm on the first outing.

I'm putting an MTC balanced crank and rod setup in it since I have to tear it down anyway. Just wondering?

If i had an MTC crank and rod set-up on the shelf i would be hearing non-existent engine noises.
Please report back when you do get into the engine.

Sorry about your bike, but it sounds like you have your solution in hand.

That's how many hydro locks happen. Did you turn off your gas when you parked it? Remove 1 & 6 plugs and measure distance to each piston. Bent rod will show up very obviously.
