decal source

Post by barryadam »

I think CB Decals / AFE Graphics is still Mark Olan, right? Formerly of Mach9 Technologies?

Is CB/AFE the same product as reprodecals (reproductiondecals.com) on fleaBay?

They are all in Ontario, Canada.

They are two seperate companies, Barry.
Over the years i have purchased 3 complete sets from Andre at Reproduction Decals in London, Ontario and have been very pleased with them.
You will have to e-mail them and they will send you their Honda catalogue. The mother company flexed their muscles a couple years ago telling Andre he could no longer advertise Honda products. Bastards!

Thanks for explaining it, Steve.
Yeah, the missing H page on reprodecals site is conspicuous by it's absence.
From my searches, CB / AFE seem to come highly recommended for the CBX, but reprodecals are always on sale on the Bay.

Hi,

Other than Ebay;

Anyone have a source for a pair of the "HONDA" name tank "decals" (not sure they are really decals in the strict sense of the word,) for a 1979 model.
Finally got back into this project again and buying parts like crazy - I was bidding on a pair on Ebay, but thought I'd check here before I got into a real bidding war.

Thanks - JJ

On the tank, the "HONDA" is a badge held on by fasteners.
If you are after the tank decals, they include the "SuperSport" under the badges, as well as the "CBX" and "Double Overhead Cam 24 valves" on the top, and the stripes.
If you need the tank decals, minus the stripes, I have some extras. No extra (steenkin') badges though.

That is extremely kind of you, barry,

But unfortunately it is the Honda badges I am looking for.

Cheers,

Jesse.

Just make sure you have a '79 tank with the 3mm screws - the '80 tanks had 4mm ones. The badges were a 469 part # for the '80 also, with minor background differences and the 4mm holes, but they have been NLA for a long time. Guys just drill the '79 ones and use them.

Good call, thank you.
It is a 79 tank for sure.
