Gas Tank dent removal

Post by 6Pipes »

Hi all,

I spent a bit of time today researching "paintless dent removal". I have a couple of dents in the tank of my 79 that look repairable however the anti syphone baffle would prevent access to the area for the manipluation tool. Can the baffle be removed.? Anyone been down this road before?

I have a dent removal set that works with an adaptor that is being glued in the bottom of the dent and then pulled with a device. I have used this on several tanks and it works quite well, although not perfect, depending how "creased" the dent is. After you pull the dent, you heat up the glue with a hair-dryer and the adaptor comes off. Eastwood used to sell it.

I would show it to a professional PDR guy - They can do wonders even on dents you'd swear they could never get close to by bending and manipulating the tool
