'79 Sidecover Paint
Anyone know the proper paint to use?

I found it to be a perfect match Carl the only problem being the preparation. Lots of these "color back" & plastic preservatives are liquid teflon based. Normally not a problem as can be removed withe MEK, Toluolene or Acetone. Problem there being they also melt "plastic" so care is required...Carl wrote:I'm looking for as a close to original as possible match

If it goes on a black bike and you try to match the black of the tank and the fenders, any paint shop will be able to match that pretty much exactly. Other than with the Candy Glory Red and maybe to an extend the Perseus Silver, the gloss black paint is very easy to match. Larry's bike is red, I believe, so he doesn't really have a matching issue.
