CBX 82 Fairing

Post by pd88 »

I just recently purchased 82 CBX 1000. I would like to remove fairing from the motorcycle. I would need some advice on replacement headlights and parts to be purchased. Please guide me on this.

Your most tidy option is to get a complete early CBX headlight bucket and bracket. It bolts right on except you have to drill out the threads for the gauge mount on the top bridge and use the early long mounting bolts. The wiring is a challenge to fit into the headlight, but it will go. Turn signals are up to you. Aftermarket perfect reproductions of CBX headlight buckets are now available and the original mount for it isn't terribly expensive.

Thanks for the response Dave, where can I source these parts?

Supersport shed has a complete headlight assembly

The For sale/wanted section of this forum is a good starting place for the bracket and any other parts you need

Many aftermarket styles of headlight mounts are available from custom bike suppliers.
Never dealt with this firm but just to show some optins.

I used these with a 79 CBX headlight bracket, from K&S Technology, # 25-4035 w/ 3 wires. They are a little slimmer but retain
similar look .
