painting carb bodies

Can someone recommend a rattle can for light spraying of carburetors ? I will be polishing the slider tops but would like to spray the rest .

To clean them or refurbish the look, soda blasting is an effective method.

Steve is correct that soda blasting will give the best appearance to sketchy-looking carb bodies, but that comes with a price. You must disassemble EVERYTHING, including all throttle plates and shafts, felt seals, etc to clean all the soda out. It washes away, but if any is left, it will foul any moving parts. A lot of work and not recommended if you are not intimately familiar with these carbs. Bodies usually clean up pretty well in a good carb soak bath, followed by detergent and hot water cleaning. Ultrasonic cleaning also does a good job.

I cleaned one of the bodies and it looks even better. I will just polish the top slider caps and leave rest as is.
Soda blast looks to be a lot more work :)
