CAM TIMING ERROR

Post by itsacbx »

hey all, Nils Menten alerted me to what could be a cam timing issue on my 79. I installed the right side cams as per the book, but when it came time to do the right side, Im sure I did it according to the book but is wrong.
Can someone lead me to a 1981-2 manual download so I can check what Ive done and fix it before it gets expensive??

When doing the right side cams I pointed the #6 cam lobes towards the sparkenplugs and lined up the dots on the chainwheels with the top of the head while the T mark was on the engine case break.
When I did the left side cams I didnt rotate the engine 360 degrees and that where my error is Im sure. Im headed to my workshop this morning to check that.

Just make sure that the #1 and #6 cam lobes are in opposite directions after assembly.
