Raask rearsets...

Post by steve murdoch icoa #5322 »

Does anybody have a photo of a '79 with Raask rearsets. I recently acquired a beat up pair. They have been modified[butchered] and the fit does not make sense to me.
I know the pics might be in the archives, but if anybody has a shot of both sides i would be grateful.
Thanks, Steve.

Are you sure they are CBX1000 rearsets, Steve? The Europeans had other CBXes in almost the same time period and a lot of sellers of parts ignore this and call their stuff "CBX" parts, while it fits a CBX550, 650 or 750. I never really liked the looks of the Raasks. They were a little too crude for my taste.

Crude is being polite!
Actually i am not sure if they are for a CBX 1000 but they did come in a box with only parts for the big bike. I know that does not prove anything but the previous owner said all the parts had been removed from a 1000 that he wasprepping to drag race.
I have a set on a hot rod GS1000 that are not too bad, ugly but fit me perfectly.
Thanks for the input Mike.

Brain Cramp!
I have an '81 with Raask rearsets out in my garage.
My excuse being that i just recently acquired the bike and i have not yet ridden it. What a maroon!
The red face from embarrassment should be visible from space.

wish I had problems like that "Gee honey, isn't that another CBX ('81 model) in the garage with Raask rearsets? I forgot all about it." :D

Ah but the delete post button only works when you're the last post, Steve.

I knew a guy that collected classic Mopars. He had several Barracudas and wanted another one. Didn't want to ask his wife about it and get her upset. He just went ahead and bought the car and parked it with the other Cudas. She never noticed it.

Boy, would that be a good problem to have.
