I spoke with the guy that is selling them and he is saying that these are from '79 cbx. My CBX is '82, does it matter? Would i loose the center stand?

Thanks

No, you do not. The 81/82 exhaust has a crossover pipe for a better mid-range response. That's the only outside difference. This exhaust will fit your 82.

But your question was about the stand and the center stand indeed hits in a different place than the early models. Seems that doesn't matter, however, since I see no provisions for a stopper for either stand on those pipes.

Correct - as I recall the RC exhaust that was on my bike when I bought it had no provision for a center stand stop.

Oh well, I just bought them last night.
I guess I'll have to remove the center stand altogether, right?
Do you have pictures of your bike with them on?
Thanks

Classic RC!!! Neat! I should think/hope you could fabricate something to retain the stand.

Nice find, you should be able to fab something for your stands , my bike is gutted so it has no center stand for weight savings, if i could stop eating Donuts i could find some weight savings without hacking my bike anymore :D

They probably can be fabricated only they are already ceramic coated, should of been done before.
I'll figure something out

Gearheadgregg,

Those cans look like mine only buffles are different. I'm assuming that I should wrap them up with otherwise they will probably be too loud!

Interesting , someone here on this thread said you need earplugs , So my question to that person would be What Baffle did he hear ? LMAO Yes your baffle is different and anyone one with a little experience knows that different baffles will have different DB readings , and Yes Wrap them with muffler glass pack , btw, I may have mine Chromed plated, Jet Hot Powder coat just gave me a Price to Ceramic coat those 2 headers and 2 Muffler canisters , $ 225 each header and $ 125 each canister $ 700 dollars !!!!!!! So you got a excellent deal bro !!

I wear earplugs anyway as my ears hurt from all the wind noise.
Ceramic coating on these looks really nice and they haven't been used since that was done so they are nice and clean

I've listened to R/C exhausts since they came out. Out-of-the-box, they are the loudest I've heard. But whatever - as I said before, I'm not an aftermarket exhaust guy, so almost none of them do anything for me.

The only time i need earplugs is riding with my Sunday ride group full of Hardly Davidson's V Twinkies, but no problem staying in front haha, my regular powder coat guy can do these with Ceracoat Chromex ceramic coating..for $ 275 ,,but Ceracoat needs to be Vibratory polished to look like yours ..they look grey kinda without polish...my local powder guy does not have a Vibratory machine ..

I'm wondering as to why my buffles look different then yours, there must have been different ones available.
