Silent silencer for Delkevic 6 into 1

Post by aahrens1 »

This Akrapovic muffler is for a Yamaha XJR 1300 RP19, not sold in the US, weld work required!!! Big advantage is the exchangeable db-eater with 3 screws. As this bike was discontinued in 2016 the muffler becomes rare with the time.

Sounds very nice.
To my ear has a tone somewhat similar to stock.

Welcome to the site.
Feel free to start a thread with some info about your build.

If you have a closer look on the video you will see that the muffler is only provisionally mounted for a sound check.
Yes, the muffler is pricy due to the catalyst and it has a titanium hull. The catalyst section is cut away in my case.
The silencer is absorbtion type, that means you can look through.

Guess I wouldn't be THAT in love with the silencer. There are a million other choices out there that would do just fine. But that's just me. Carry on!

Would you mind sharing more info on your build please? I'm mainly interested in the swing arm and fork details

Thanks

Swing arm is a Yamaha XJR 1300 RP19 (-2016) and the fork is a Kayaba from a ZZR 1400 (2007).

Very nice custom!
What is your goal as far as the final aesthetics are concerned, Street Fighter, Modern Vintage, something else?

Would you consider a modern megaphone with vintage looks, or are you dead set on a modern style can/muffler?

My last project was a Yamaha XJR 1300 and I remembered when I was 14 there was a CBX prolink in a magazine... what a sporty  amazing bike.
Today I´m only interested in the engine and the frame, giving it the look of the XJR with modern chassis and electrical components.
