Sachse electronic ignition

Post by AshishNJ »

I was looking at this system https://www.elektronik-sachse.de/shopsy ... x1000.html and wondering if anyone has used it . Since it is for a custom setup, I am thinking of also using the M Unit and cut down on wiring ..

I actually installed it yesterday. Install is a breeze . I was only able to test run it and make sure my 40 yr old coils are still good 😀.
I won’t be able to test run engine since bike is in pieces. But the bench test was good .

Does this use the stock advancer? What resistance does it want for coils?

Nils. That is the one. It only uses the stock advancer base . No spring or cams are used and it uses coils with any resistance between 2-5 ohms.

I have absolutely no issues with sparks

Ashish, where did you mount the box? USB interface for programming? Did they supply some starter maps?

There is no usb with it. It comes with 9 curves and you can choose one As per your liking by a rotary switch

DAMN! That appears to me to be quite a system. And, for the money, definitely to be considered if replacing OEM. Assuming their accuracy of the pick-up locations is precise (120 degree) it sounds like 'the one'! Unless you just ''have to have' customise-able curves.

For someone like me, choice of 9 timing curves is more than adequate. May not do that well with some pro . They do offer custom settings if someone wants it . For me, keeping my el-cheapo coils and getting rid of all that mechanical mess is worth it.

Btw, in test mode , I could see Solid spark from 3/4” away from ground 😊
