Any tricks to getting the horn to scream loudly?

Post by last426 »

What a wimpy horn, at least mine is. I haven't dug into it yet and I know that there is that screw adjustment but I wonder if there are any other tricks to making this thing blast loudly? Is there only one horn? As I understand car/bike horns, there is normally a discordant harmony set up between two horns to make the sound "alerting". Not so on the CBX? Hmmm. Thanks, Kim.

If you take the horn apart you will find a set of contacts inside. Clean them up with some sand paper or a points file. The little screw adjusts the contact gap(and the tone of the horn.) I was able to resurect mine from the dead, and it wasn't to bad a job. :) Good luck, Dave

You can also by a 6 volt horn, that will bring up the DB's quite a bit.
