'80 carbs-79 motor

I have a set of '80 carbs on a parts bike. I also have a '79 that needs restored. Just to run it, can I put the '80 carbs on the '79 to run it? The '79's carbs need rebuilt, so I can't run it with them. Thanks for the info. Chet from Gainesville, TX.
