Help identifying carb parts please

Post by oroepke »

I am putting together my carbs but I have no idea where these springs go. They are not the accelerator or air cutoff spring, they are shorter. Any pointers?
And those two short rubber tubes seem as if the came from the bowl vent holes, but I think they need the t-piece on there or stay open.
I am following Mike Nixon‘s book but couldn’t find the answer in there. Thanks for any help!

The springs go in between the throttle linkage between carbs 1 and 2 and carbs 5 and 6. See the attached photo.

The rubber pieces connect the bowl vents for carbs 1 and 2 and carbs 5 and 6. The tees are for the bowl vents between carbs 2 and 3 and carbs 4 and 5.

In addition to Nixon’s book, I recommend you use the shop manual. Chapter 4 covers carbs and would have answered your questions.

Just a tip - take lots of pictures when disassembling.
