Smelly clothes when I ride

Hello CBXers,

The carbs on my 1979Z have been synced recently, my bike is stock, except for the exhausts, which are replicas, but very similar to the originals.

Every time I ride, my clothes stink. It's like the carbs are out of tune.

I own it since 1994, and I noticed this in the last few years. I don't recall noticing it before, but maybe I'm just old and grumpy? What do you guys think. Is it normal?

Thanks

Are you clothes smelling of gas?
How is it running?
Any smoke out of the exhaust? Blue or black?

Hi guys, no smoke, it runs 95% perfect, just a lag once in a while at very low rpm 1500+-

The exhaust is a bit open in the back (it has 2 options, more noite less noise, and it's on the more noise "make a statement when you arrive" 🤣🤣🤣), maybe it's slightly better in the less noise option?

It's done 32.000km/ 20.000k miles.

Clothes don't smell of gas, they smell of exhaust fumes.

If anything about your carb jetting was changed (even years ago, before you got the bike), the exhaust will smell overly rich. Have experienced this many times, especially with Pro-Links with the fairing that forces air to you from behind.

And what can be done about it if that's the case?

Check the carb jetting just to see, but if you have been running the bike for years, but just now noticed this, might have something else going on. Has your mileage dropped recently? Are the exhaust outlets extra sooty? How do the plugs look?
