Accelerator pump housing

Post by mvanderwat »

Hi. I have a 1981 CBX1000 Prolink and am looking for a 2nd hand accelerator pump housing.

I seem to have lost the inner 1-way valve in mine ?

Any help in sourcing a good 2nd hand one would be highly appreciated.

Cheers
Mark

The heat and vibration in an ultrasonic cleaner can shake these apart, removing the square brass piece, spring and ball bearing that acts as a check valve. I no longer clean them in the machine with the rest of the parts for that very reason.
Although not sold as a service part by itself, it's the exact same component as any Honda DOHC 4 of that era.
Those may be easier to find in your area.

Many thanks for the reply. I think I may have found one off a GL1500 ?
I'll be more wary of my ultrasonic cleaner in future :)

The parts are probably still in the bottom of the tank.

That cover was never sold as the single part, so, I can't confirm that the GL part will fit/function properly.

GL1500 part received and is a perfect match :)
