Helps to be hearing proficient when synchronizing carbs. I am unable to adjust the mixture on my old Honda's and just discovered that syncing the throttle valves on the CBX was impossible. I did a piss poor job of bench syncing before installation and it was down hill from there. 10 years ago I bought the Motion Pro adjustment tool and chrome K&L gauge set + two extra gauges to add to the rack. At the time I could still hear well enough and it went smoothly but yesterday it was a disaster. The engine was heating up so I wound up just returning the settings back to where I began before it overheated.
QUESTION:
Is there another way to set the throttle valves with the carb rack on the bench. Feeler gauges or perhaps some expensive vacuum set-up? I'm drawing up a vacuum assembly that can attach to the shop vac so I can do that. Anyone have some ideas?

Setting them exactly the same on the bench DOES NOT equate to a perfect sync on the bike.
Variances in vacuum, cam wear, profile differences, overlap, etc. come into play. That's why it's necessary to sync them on YOUR bike, not mine because mine can/will be different than yours.
Just one of the clamps being a tick looser than the others can cause a tiny vacuum leak on that cylinder that would cause a difference in sync.
It's usually only a 15 minute process to do the syncing. Number 4 is the master that can't be adjusted and all the others need to match it. Do #5 next and #6 after that. Then #3, #2 and #1 in that order. You'll need a short tool to do #6 to get under the frame rail.

Good advice . Are there specific brass tubes you guys recommend. How easy it is to put the screw back once brass tubes have been unscrewed ?

You'll need one of those spring tensioned, screw starters about 8" long for #3 and #4 especially. Use a dab of grease or similar to keep the aluminum washer attached.
