That motor really looks tasty, Greg. Glad to see you're on track for Springtime!

My bike was put into storage at the end of 2017, and has been sitting since. The brakes and suspension are great, and the engine rebuild seems to have worked out OK (although it's still not really been put through its paces), but I don't want to ride it again until it's converted to EFI - which might be 2019, more likely 2020. With my 4 year old son and 10 month old daughter, I'm really not keen on time away from home these days, so the bike sits and waits for the next round of enhancements.

And yes, no matter how much I'm valuing time at home with the kids these days, it is really tough living without being able to fire up my bike and go for a rip. I do ride my wife's Ducati Monster 620 while the CBX is in storage, but it was at most a few hundred miles last year. I cope by having daydreams of one day doing a trip with my wife - each riding our own bikes from Toronto to GA to see the whale sharks, and visiting friends along the way. I also cope by putting a bit more time and energy into bicycles - I've been able to bring my son on the back of my pedal-bike since he was a year old, but it'll still be quite a while before I'm comfortable having him on the back of a motorcycle. All 4 of us are doing a cycling trip through the Netherlands next month - can't wait!

But I still spend a whole hell of a lot of time thinking about that sexy neglected I6 in my cousin's garage. So I live vicariously through my friends here with running bikes.

I totally understand, 2 kids myself , took a 20 year layoff from riding when the kids were little , Coached LL and sat on bleachers for 18 years watching them play , Now one is a Col USAF / Pilot and deployed as we speak, and my youngest son 31 is my business partner home remodeling contractor,, Raced offshore Boats and V-drives ,,Water skied and Dun-buggies , 4 seat with Car seat ! When my youngest was 2 he would hang on to his baby bottle and we would Blast Up Oldsmobile Hill in the sand dunes people would laugh seeing him hang on to his bottle, Our kids were always with us, Look forward to your EFI project looking at your CBX i have a feeling it will be top notch ,,Oldsmobile hill > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0TYQKEUbGA

One word of caution:

I have seen several CBXes converted to EFI and talked to a couple of owners who did the job.
If you find it, you can read my article on CBX World from the early 2000s about Stefan Jung's fuel injected Martin.
They are all ongoing projects.
None of them runs the way the owners wanted them to or they should.
Starting with the injectors, to the manifolds, to the mapping... a lot of it is hit and miss and changing and experimenting.
It is a long, long way to gratification.
