Boomers

Thanks to a well respected forum member here I was able to purchase a set of Boomers for my next project.

I fully ascribe to CBXTACY experience and recommendation for CBR600 wheels for many reasons, un-sprung weight, floating rotors and so on. After this build I will do one for handling and I will definitely tap into George's wealth of knowledge.

This will be just a fun project to produce something appealing to the eye along the stock lines.

Nice catch, Mike! what rotors are these on the front(?).
Looks like a CB1100R rotor. If so, the rear could be a 3.00x18 ?? The 11F boomies are 2.75x17
I had a set of the R wheels on my red 79 for a while with no other changes. Did not like them too much and changed back to the stockers, but it could have been the tires I had on them.
Some CBXers don't like gold wheels on red bikes and I got some flag for that too.

Good eye.

Back wheel is 3.0 x 18, front is 2.5 x 18.

I think the gold wheels will look great with the right color body and engine.

I think I'll go with a black engine and black cherry pearl body work.

Of course that could change, there are so many colors of paint out there to consider.

After much thought I pulled the trigger on a Metmachex braced swing arm for the next project.

It appears to be a well made swing arm, deep braced and with eccentric adjusters. Should look good on the bike.

The CB1100F swing arm will be put away for another day as I think the Metmachex swing arm well look great.

I'll post a pic when I get it here. It's coming from Great Britain.

No problem there. I use wheel stands.

Anxious to see what the swingarm looks like. I don't usually splurge for trick parts but couldn't pass this one up.

Now I may have to re think the front end. It would be killer to go with USD forks but I suspect CB1100F would be more affordable and more of a plug and play.
