Well I bought a 82 about a year ago.
It was to good of a deal to pass up and thought that it would be fun
It was sitting for a VERY long time.
6k miles and the paint looked really good
Well I got a lesson on CBXs so far....
Carbs needed to be rebuilt so kits and manifolds were ordered
They were not that bad, but boy does that job take for ever
Everything was soda blasted and the tops were polished
Then I found out that one of the valves was sticking
Valves were cleaned and lapped. New valve seals were installed as well
alternator was polished and new brushes installed
Brakes and forks were all rebuilt
Got a good deal on these, just for fun
The petcock still needs to be rebuilt, Im using the suzuki part that I was told will work
This needs to be cleaned up
Almost ready to start thinking about firing the bike up. Should sound great with those SS supertrapps

Re: My First CBX
Can't say i have ever seen a CBX being towed.
Welcome to the site, Jaguar.
Looks like you have most of the big stuff covered. Those Supertrapps will let your neighbours know when you are coming home. I think they sound great.

Re: My First CBX
The bike came to me in a three bike deal with a CB750F and a CB350F
They were a few blocks from a friends house so we pushed the first two bikes home, but were not going to think about pushing the CBX home....up hill
There is a picture some place that my friend behind me took. Being towed at 30mph....it was stupid and dangerous....but funny
Most of the big stuff is done.
Still need to do something with the rear shock, as nothing is moving. Guess the $300+ progressive is the way to go.
Really wish the bike had the hard bags, but also am kind of thinking about taking the fairing off and running naked
