Picture from this past weekend. The fairing has gone back on and we still need to attach the new seat cover.

Re: 1982 CBX Project
The exhaust note is awesome! What exhaust system is mounted on the bike that makes that sound?

Re: 1982 CBX Project
I went online this morning and added insurance coverage to the CBX and then went to the DMV and got it title, registered and tagged! Took to the road for the first time! Logged about 50 miles! Discovered we are missing the two side cover stays that have a grommet for attaching the side covers, so for today it rode without the side covers. If anyone has any spares they would be willing to parts ways with, let me know. I started a thread in the wanted/for sale forum.

Major, your bike turned great.
I see a cartridge on the right side...what rear shock are you using?

Re: 1982 CBX Project
Rear shock is from a rebuilt CBR 600 with Hypercoil racing spring. Jamie Daugherty at www.daughertymotorsports.com built the shock for me. He build a shock for my VF1100s sabre a while ago and did an excellent job I asked if he would be interested in building a CBX shock. I sent him pictures of the clearance area and an old cbx shock and this is what he came up with. It is set up for the riders weight... and I am a big guy.steve murdoch icoa #5322 wrote:Major, your bike turned great.

Re: 1982 CBX Project
It's good to see guys getting involved with and excited about Prolinks. I always liked mine for different resons than my '79 and I think they are great bikes. They just don't carry the glamour of the early models and, of course, they have 5 horsepower less than the '79s, which makes a lot of difference.......
